Easy to make and totally portable, to-go tacos are a creative take on traditional tacos, made with seasoned ground beef mixed in bags of corn chips or tortilla chips, with all the taco toppings!

Ingredients for a walking taco
Tortilla or corn chips – Use a single 1 ounce serving. bags of chips. Single serving bags of Fritos, Doritos, tortilla chips or even vegetable chips can be used. Have scissors handy to snip the bags to make preparation easier.
Meat – Plan on ¼ cup of meat per “taco.” Ground beef is the standard, but ground chicken or turkey can also be used. Drained black beans, pinto beans, or cilantro rice are perfect meatless alternatives or can be used to bulk up the meat.
Spices – Season with ready-made packets of taco seasoning or a homemade taco seasoning mix (a mixture of chili powder, garlic powder, and other spices).

Optional Add-Ins (per pouch):

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the ground beef until no longer pink, about 5 to 6 minutes.

Add the taco seasoning and water to the pan and cook until thickened, about 2 to 4 minutes.

Leave the Doritos in the bag and gently mash them until the chips are slightly broken.

Place a heaping ¼ cup of taco meat into each bag. Place your desired toppings directly into the bag of chips.

Mix the ingredients together with a fork until well combined.
Meat can be prepared and kept warm in a slow cooker.
