Recipe: Teriyaki Beef and Broccoli
An excellent fake takeout, using my tried and true stir fry “formula”!
Ingredients
- 1 Pound Beef for frying Skirt steak, cut across the grain
- 1 Cup Teriyaki sauce (use gluten free sauce if needed)
- 2 tablespoon rapeseed oil
- 1 Red pepper cored and sliced
- 1 1/2 cups broccoli florets fresh
- 1 Cup sticky white rice Supplement, recipe link below
instructions
-
If necessary, slice the sirloin thinly, across the grain of the meat. Add teriyaki sauce and marinate for at least 30 minutes, ideally overnight.
-
Cook rice as directed.
-
Heat the canola oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef slices with the marinade and sear on all sides, turning frequently. Fry on high heat for 5 minutes. Place the beef and sauce on a plate.
-
Sauté the pepper slices and broccoli in the same pan for 4 to 6 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the broccoli is turning a lighter green.
-
Return the beef and sauce to the pan and mix together. If necessary, thicken the sauce with a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed in 2 tablespoons water). Simmer for a few minutes and then serve.
-
Serve Teriyaki Beef & Veggie Roast over sticky white rice with optional sesame garnish.
