Austria-based fast food chain Swing Kitchen continues its expansion in Germany with the opening of a new location in Munich.
The 175-square-meter site has room for 40 guests and is located in Maxvorstad, often referred to as the cultural center of the city. It has the signature aesthetic of the swing kitchen, based on the swing era of the 1930s and 40s.
The menu features a variety of burgers including the Swing Burger, Chili Burger and Cheese Burger. A selection of wraps and salads are also available, along with sides like fries, nuggets and onion rings. For dessert, customers can choose from cheesecake, tiramisu and more.

Sustainable concepts
Swing Kitchen already has two locations in Berlin and is reportedly preparing to open restaurants in Düsseldorf, Heidelberg and Leipzig later this year. In Austria, the chain has five locations in Vienna, one in Graz and one in Innsbruck. Swing Kitchen also opened a restaurant in Switzerland’s capital Bern in 2018.
According to the chain, half of its customers are meat eaters, with young, well-educated women particularly well represented.
“We are the most sustainable concept in the industry. That means our environmental footprint is extremely positive,” the founders of Swing Kitchen told vegconomist.de in 2018. “Since we are completely vegetarian, we save a lot of energy, water, food and CO2. But the green concept doesn’t stop at the edge of the plate – we only sell our products in compostable packaging, which is completely plastic-free.”
