Global materials and chemicals distributor Univer Solutions announced this Selected as distributor of ICL’s Rovitaris Textured Plant Proteins in North America. Through the agreement, Univer aims to expand plant-based protein options for food ingredient consumers in the United States and Canada.

ICL, a leading manufacturer of specialty minerals and food ingredients, has developed the Rovitaris portfolio to deliver plant-based protein ingredients with better texture, stability and taste than similar ingredients on the market. According to ICL, it is “constantly developing new and optimized products” that address current gaps in the marketplace.
The Rovitaris ingredient portfolio can be applied to produce meat substitutes such as burgers, hot dogs, deli meats, nuggets and fish sticks, and dairy products such as milk. The company also created BEKAPLUS® DV-Line, a range of solutions for making vegan cheese.

In addition to ICL, Univar previously partnered with plant-based protein supplier Axiom Foods to expand alternative proteins in South America. In 2019, Univers Solutions Brazil A contract is signed With Axiom, which specializes in Oryzatein rice protein, to expand its distribution in Brazil and beyond. The following year, Univer became a distributor of Evergrain’s plant-based protein isolate ingredients.
