Ingredients for tortilla pizzas
Tortillas – Use store-bought flour tortillas for this recipe (try minis as a hand snack). Low carb tortillas can also be used in this recipe.
pizza sauce – Choose your favorite pizza sauce or prepare homemade pizza sauce in just a few minutes. Add some chilli flakes for a spicy touch.
Cheese – Mozzarella cheese is the cheese of choice for this recipe as it melts well in the oven. But a flavorful Monterey Jack or even a softer cheese like goat cheese will do.
topping – Olives, green peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, fresh basil, and healthy chicken cutlet are great additions to this pizza. Instead of oregano, try a homemade Italian condiment or add Italian sausage!

Tortilla Pizza
This method makes the best tortilla pizzas with a crispy crust!

-
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Place a baking sheet in the oven to preheat while the oven heats up.
-
Place a tortilla on a cutting board and brush with olive oil. Flip and sprinkle ¼ cup grated mozzarella cheese on top. Place a second tortilla on top to create a tortilla sandwich.
-
Slide the tortilla off the cutting board onto the preheated baking sheet, oil side down. Bake for about 4 to 5 minutes, or until the underside is golden brown.
-
Remove the tortilla from the oven and brush the second side with oil. Turn the tortilla over so the browned side is facing up.
-
Spread ¼ cup pizza sauce on the browned side of the tortilla. Sprinkle ¼ teaspoon of dried oregano or basil over the sauce.
-
Top with 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese and 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese. Add your favorite pizza toppings, e.g. B. Pepperoni slices, sliced mushrooms or other desired toppings.
-
Place the tortilla pizza back in the oven and bake an additional 4 to 5 minutes, or until the underside is browned. If desired, grill the pizza for 1 minute.
The side of the pizza that touches the pan is the side that will brown the most. Make sure the pan is hot before you start.
Add toppings of your choice, we love pepperoni and mushrooms. Cook the mushrooms (or other toppings with lots of moisture) before adding them to the pizza.
