Everything you need to make this Frozen Strawberry Margarita
You really only need 4 super easy ingredients to make the best frozen strawberry margaritas ever. You will need the following:
- strawberries: Be sure to use frozen strawberries to keep the margaritas cold and mushy.
- Tequila: I recommend using silver tequila in this frozen strawberry margarita recipe because it has a lighter, cleaner flavor that pairs well with berries.
- Sweetener: You only need a few tablespoons of sweetener to give margaritas the perfect flavor. No triple sec needed! Feel free to use agave syrup or plain syrup. Below is how you can easily make simple syrup at home.
- lime juice: Add brightness and acidity with some fresh lime juice.
- To serve: If you like, you’ll need a lime wedge, sugar or salt for the rim of your glass, and fresh strawberries for a pretty garnish!
Should I add ice?
The frozen strawberries should keep this margarita cold and thick, but if the mixture looks too thin, just mix in some ice cubes.

Easy DIY syrup for margaritas
Simple syrup is super easy to make at home! To prepare it, simply shake equal parts granulated sugar and water in a glass for about 1-2 minutes until the sugar has dissolved. In this recipe, 2 tablespoons each would be enough for 2 of these Frozen Strawberry Margaritas.
You choose: salty or sweet
Make these Frozen Strawberry Margaritas extra fancy with a salt or sugar rim! Simply cut off a lime wedge and rub the cut side of the lime over the rim of your favorite margarita glasses. Pour sea salt or sugar onto a plate, dip the wet rim into the salt or sugar, then roll the rim back and forth to cover. So easy! Bonus points if you give guests both options to choose from.
How to make a frozen strawberry margarita
- Prepare your glasses. Start by filling your glasses with salt or sugar (as described above).
- Mix up your margarita. Then put the remaining ingredients in a blender and mix everything on the highest level until a smooth mass is obtained. If the margarita mixture looks thin, simply add a few ice cubes and blend again.
- Pour and serve. Pour your frozen strawberry margaritas into glasses, top with fresh strawberries and serve!
