Ok, what’s in a chocolate lasagna?

This rich, delicious dessert is a dream of chocolate lovers! Made with an Oreo crust, a layer of cheesecake, a layer of custard and topped with homemade whipped cream and Oreo sprinkles. This no-bake dessert is unlike any lasagna you’ve ever eaten!

How to make Chocolate Lasagna

This dessert is made in layers and after adding each layer, put it in the fridge while we make the next layer. First we’ll make the Oreo crust, then we’ll make homemade whipped cream. We divide the whipped cream and put half of it on the 2nd layer and the other half for the topping. The second layer is our cream cheese and powdered sugar layer, followed by our vanilla and chocolate pudding for the 3rd layer. The top layer is the other half of the whipped cream and the Oreo sprinkles. Let everything set in the fridge and you’re done!

Full recipe details, including required ingredients and measurements, are on the printable recipe card below. Here’s a step-by-step guide on what to expect when preparing this recipe:

Ingredients for Chocolate Lasagna

First Layer: Make the Oreo crust

Pulverize Oreos (regular Oreos, not double filled) in a food processor until crumbly. Pour slowly melted butter in Oreos and grind in food processor until well combined.

Press buttered cookie crumbs in a 9×13 glass baking dish with clean hands or an offset spatula.

insertion Fridge to cool down when making the next layer.

Make the whipped cream (divide in half)

Combine fat whipped cream, powdered sugar And Vanilla Place in a bowl and beat with a food processor or hand mixer until soft peaks form. Put aside.

pro tip: The whipped cream used for this is my homemade whipped cream recipe. I doubled it for this recipe to have enough to divide between the cream cheese layer and for the topping.

Second Layer: Make the cream cheese and sugar mixture

Location soft cream cheese And powdered sugar Pour into a bowl and mix.

collapse HALF the homemade whipped cream until everything is united.

spread Cream Cheese Whipped Cream Mixture tower over the Oreo layer.

insertion Fridge to cool down when making the next layer.

Third Layer: Make the pudding

Combine Instant pudding mixes made from chocolate and vanilla with milkWhisk for 2 minutes.

spread pudding mix tower over the cream cheese/whipped cream Layer.

Cover and put in Fridge to cool down at least 10 minutes.

pro tip: Make sure you use instant pudding, not the boil-and-serve variety. Instant pudding does not need to be cooked before use. Cook & Serve pudding must first be heated on the stovetop before use.

Fourth layer: Spread whipped cream

spread remaining whipped cream tower over pudding layer.

Sprinkle with remaining Oreo cookie crumbs for garnish and Refrigerate for another 20 minutes. Serve chilled.

Variations on this chocolate lasagna recipe

Oreos– I do not recommend using double-filled or mega-filled Oreos for this recipe. The cream cheese layer will be too greasy from the extra cream, making the crust too soggy. You can try using a different variety of Oreos to add a fun twist to the original version.

peanut butter– Make a peanut butter chocolate lasagna by adding some smooth peanut butter to the cream cheese layer.

Strawberry Lasagna– Use gold oreos instead of the original oreos and strawberry jello instead of pudding.

Flavors Pudding Mix- I love the combination of chocolate and vanilla in this recipe, but feel free to use whatever you have on hand or whichever you prefer. Also, using two boxes of chocolate or dark chocolate makes a great chocolate lasagna.

Make storage instructions in advance

Since this dessert is kept in the fridge anyway, it’s easy to make Prepare this a day before serving. Be sure to cover it with a tight-fitting lid or plastic wrap to keep it fresh. To store leftovers, place them back in the fridge and let them sit, covered, for up to 4-5 days. However, I don’t think it will last that long. 😉

Freeze: Cover and place in the freezer for up to 2 months. Leave in the fridge overnight to thaw before serving.
