How to make sweetened condensed milk to replace when you’re out of milk is easy once you have condensed milk on hand. You only need 3 ingredients and some time. I usually keep condensed milk handy in the cupboard, but for some reason I never have the sweetened condensed milk. This recipe yields a little over 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk. You can use it in recipes that call for the real thing. Once you make this sweetened condensed milk, it will keep in the fridge for about 4 to 5 days, just like the condensed milk.

Is there a difference between condensed milk and condensed milk?

There is a difference between condensed milk and condensed milk. Evaporated milk has about sixty percent of its water removed through evaporation, is darker in color than regular milk, and is used in sauces and gravies, and as a substitute for cream to sweeten coffee and tea.   • 1 12-ounce can of condensed milk
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Combine the three ingredients in a saucepan on the stove. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and continue cooking for 20-25 minutes, stirring frequently, otherwise it will burn and the pan may overflow.

  • Cook it like you are making homemade gravy. It rises and falls as it cooks, just like sauce. You can tell when it starts to thicken. It must not be too thick as it will only thicken as it cools.

  • Twenty minutes was perfect for me. Depending on how strong the boil is, it may take shorter or longer periods of time.
