What if your next glass of lemonade could be both? refreshing and energizing? Well, this matcha lemonade is just that – and has no added sugar!

This green tea lemonade is a fun Asian twist on the classic cloudy lemonade. You may have seen or tried it at Starbucks, but now you can try it at home three simple (and healthy) ingredients!

All you need is round green tea powder (AKA Matcha), lemons and a Sweetener without sugar like erythritol. And if you want an extra lemony flavor, add a few drops of lemon essence like we did!

Put it all together and you get one really charging drink with a bright green tint. It will quench your thirst and boost your energy in one fell swoop!

And not only is it delicious, it’s also good for you.

Once you’ve cut out those nasty added sugars, this frozen green tea lemonade is pure health. Lemon juice loads it up with vitamin C, while matcha boosts it Tons of beneficial antioxidants. Impressively!

Ingredients

Sugar-free sweetener erythritol 11/2 tsp
Water 200ml
matcha powder 1/2 tsp
lemon juice 1 tbsp
Lemon Essence 1/4 tsp

Step 1

Start by making the sweet syrup base for the lemonade.

Add the sugar-free erythritol sweetener 50ml Water, stir well until dissolved and allow the syrup to cool in the refrigerator.

Next, prepare matcha tea.

In another cup, work and add matcha powder 50ml hot water and stir well until completely dissolved and no lumps remain.

Then let the tea cool in the fridge or freezer.

Now assemble the matcha lemonade.

Mix the sweet syrup with lemon juice, lemon essence and the rest 100ml Water in a serving glass or pitcher.

Then pour the prepared matcha tea into the lemonade.

Stir well and serve your refreshing green tea lemonade ice cold with ice cubes and a few lemon slices if you like.

tips

  • You can substitute other sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit for erythritol. However, check package directions for substitutes as each brand is a little different and may contain mixtures of different sweeteners.

  • If you don’t mind a nice sparkling lemonade, you can try it without any sweetener at all. We tried it and we liked it too!

  • Alternatively, you can replace the sweetener with regular white sugar at a 1:1 ratio if you don’t need the soda sugar-free.

  • If you liked the recipe, try using limes instead of lemons for a green tea “limeade”!
