These Lemon Garlic Brussels Sprouts are ready in just 5 minutes and are steamed until tender and then tossed in a Vinaigrette to create the ultimate healthy and delicious side dish recipe.

Brussels sprouts are one of my favorite veggies that I serve for dinner or even steam for a quick afternoon snack! While there are countless ways to enhance the flavor of these powerhouses, I love making a simple lemon and garlic vinaigrette with olive oil and a sprinkling of chili flakes. It takes little time so I can focus on the main course, but adds the nutrients my family needs for a balanced meal.
Ingredients
- The Brussels sprouts: To make it even easier, I buy a packet of Brussels sprouts to steam in the bag. But you can also use frozen or raw from the fruit department!
- lemon juice: Fresh, sour and bright flavor that cuts through some of the bitterness Brussels sprouts can have. Throw in some lemon zest, too, for an even stronger lemon punch!
- Olive oil: Mixes with the lemon juice to make a wonderful sauce.
- Garlic: Pungent, pungent, nutty flavor that goes with just about anything.
How to make Steamed Lemon Garlic Brussels Sprouts

Start your Lemon Garlic Brussels Sprouts by steaming your Brussels sprouts according to package directions. While the Brussels sprouts are cooking, prepare your vinaigrette by squeezing your lemon into a large bowl.

Then use a microplate to rub your garlic in with the lemon juice.

Drizzle in the olive oil.

And finish with a pinch of salt. If you like a spicy kick, you can also add some red pepper flakes!

Stir everything together until fully blended.

Take your cooked Brussels sprouts and put them in the bowl. Stir until evenly coated in the vinaigrette.

Serve garnished with fresh scallions and enjoy your steamed lemon garlic Brussels sprouts!
