How do your plant-based products differ?
With so many new plant-based meat alternatives on the market these days, it can be difficult to differentiate your product from the others. One possibility is to offer an organic, plant-based meat alternative, but the challenge for many manufacturers is to use formulations free of additives, especially artificial stabilizers such as methylcellulose. At the same time, consumers expect a meaty texture with a juicy mouthfeel.
Recently, the Agrana Research and Innovation Center was able to develop a plant-based burger patty based on essential wheat gluten, pregelatinized corn starch and potato fiber, which completely replaces methyl cellulose and achieves a convincing taste experience..
