It’s ridiculously easy and really lets the natural flavors of the mushrooms shine through. The result?   • Bella Mushrooms: We love how this recipe looks like using bella mushrooms, but feel free to use your favorite variety of fresh mushrooms.
  • Olive oil: We used olive oil for this recipe, but salted butter would also taste good.
  • Salt: A little kosher salt brings out the natural flavor of the mushrooms even better.

Here’s how to make the best sautéed mushrooms

PREPARE MUSHROOMS

Put all the mushrooms in a colander and Rinse the mushrooms gently with cold water until there is no dirt left.

Then Dry the mushrooms gently with a tea towel or paper towel. Put aside.

FRY MUSHROOMS

Next, Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms to the pan and season with salt.

Fry the mushrooms for 10-15 minutes, Stir minimally to ensure the mushrooms don’t stick to the bottom of the pan.

Pro tip: In the first few minutes of cooking, mushrooms will shed any moisture that will either dissolve or re-enter the mushroom. Don’t be tempted to pour it out.

When the moisture is gone and the mushrooms are shiny, remove them from the pan. If you want crispier mushrooms, Turn the heat up to high and sauté for another 1-2 minutes.

SERVE + ENJOY

We prefer sautéing mushrooms in an oil with a higher smoke point like olive oil. Butter can burn at high temperatures, so we do not recommend it for sautéing mushrooms.

How do you sauté mushrooms without them getting mushy?

Mushrooms release moisture when fried. To prevent the mushrooms from becoming soggy, the key is to let that moisture wick off and then evaporate it from the pan before removing the sautéed mushrooms from the heat.
