The first Ohio location of Maple Street Biscuit Company, a cookie-centric chain that started in Jacksonville, Fla., will open on Polaris Parkway on Thursday, January 5th. The chain started its first location in 2012 and is now up and running. at 56 locations nationwide. In 2019 it was acquired by Cracker Barrel.

The location takes over the former MOD Pizza space. Maple Street Biscuit Co. it operates in a fast-casual model, with guests ordering at the counter from their menu of cookies, sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, waffles, bacon and other sides.

The store offers a variety of coffees in different flavors; you can also buy whole beans, mugs and other swag. They also serve sweet and unsweetened iced tea, cold beer and homemade juices.

Biscuits are obviously the name of the game here, and Maple Street lives up to its namesake, from biscuits with homemade jams and butters, to biscuits and gravy (which includes a shiitake mushroom version) and giant biscuit sandwiches.

Their signature item, which has gotten them noticed on the Food Network, is the Squawking Goat, a towering biscuit sandwich that layers chicken and a fried medallion of goat cheese, all coated in a pepper jelly sweet

Another house favorite, the Five & Dime is an all-inclusive biscuit sandwich with chicken tenders, fried egg, cheddar, pecan wood-smoked bacon and a generous dollop of salsa. You can order the shiitake mushroom sauce or their sausage sauce with cayenne and hot sauce.

You’ll also get a wide variety of waffles, sweet and savory. Savory waffles are filled with asiago and bacon…

…while the sweets are loaded with chocolates.

Most of the menu is served all day, but during lunch (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) they offer a collection of fried chicken strips, maple syrup fries (yes, you got it well read), sandwiches and dips.

They pride themselves on a variety of homemade sauces, from ranch to honey mustard, smoked honey barbecue to hot buffalo and more.

They also serve a variety of sides. Potatoes O’Ryan is named after a longtime employee who died in a car accident a few years ago. One day a year all proceeds from the plate will go to support his family.
