I love a festive drink by the fire and this Pomegranate Pomander Spritz mocktail fits the bill perfectly. Pomanders are an old-fashioned holiday decoration consisting of oranges carved with whole cloves that are sometimes dusted with extra hot spices. They are fragrant and look great on the holiday table. They symbolize good luck and health, which I wish for all of you during the holiday season!

I don’t partake in alcohol these days, but I still love a complex and refreshing drink that’s not too sweet. It’s great to have something celebratory to sip on when you’re chilling out a bit or getting together with people. This Pomegranate Pomander Spritz mocktail is slightly tart, citrusy, warm spiced and slightly bubbly. Seedlip Grove 42 helps enhance the citrus flavor in the base. I like to play around with Sidlip’s non-alcoholic spirits from time to time, and Grove works perfectly here.

Some tips for making this mocktail:

  • Bitter and vanilla extracts contain trace amounts of alcohol. Since they are underused here, I don’t mind including them But to make it completely alcohol-free, opt for alcohol-free vanilla extract and bitters.
  • I like plain club soda for the topping, but you can also mix it with a flavored sparkling water! Cranberry, orange etc
  • For those who drink, you can replace the seedlips with vodka or gin of choice.
  • I love studding the garnishing orange slices with a whole clove to really evoke the vibe of the pomander!

Once you pour the mocktail with all the trimmings over ice, it feels very celebratory and special! If you’re looking for something alcoholic to enjoy this time of year, I highly recommend my Spiced Cranberry Orange Margaritas. A kind of tart, citrusy, and spicy feeling!

This is my last recipe for 2022! Raising my glass to you and sending all my thanks for your support this year. I can’t wait to bring you more goodness and nourishment next year. Happy holidays!
