These cute Pilgrim Hat Cookies are so easy to make, and super fun for the holidays! Just 4 ingredients and about 20 minutes and these are ready, without turning on the oven.

These super easy Pilgrim Hat Cookies are just 4 ingredients and so easy to make. They are a fun treat you can put together for a class party or your Thanksgiving celebration. There is no baking involved and it will take just a few minutes to get these ready and dress up your holiday.

- Fudge Stripe Cookies
- Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- Yellow/Orange Frosting
- Reese’s Pieces – you could use candy corn as well
How To Make Pilgrim Hat Cookies
- Arrange the Fudge Stripe Cookies with the chocolate side facing up, on a board in front of you.
- Pipe a circle, about the size of a peanut butter cup around the center of the cookie.
- Place the peanut butter cup, upside down in the center of the frosting, pressing down gently so the frosting makes a nice rim around the cup.
- Pick out an opposite color piece of candy, if using yellow frosting pick out the orange Reese’s Pieces, and place on the edge to act as the buckle. If the frosting doesn’t come up high enough, put a tiny bit of frosting on the candy to make it stick to the peanut butter cup.
Recipe Tips & Variations
- Candy Corn works great for the “buckle” decorating as well. Just cut off the orange part and stick that in place of the Reese’s Pieces.
- You can use store bought decorating frosting or you can use my Vanilla Frosting recipe and color about 1/2 cup of it.
- Fudge Stripe Cookies are easy to find and a perfect side, but any flat chocolate cookie will work. You could even use Oreos and use a smaller peanut butter cup and this would work.
- If you don’t have cake decorating supplies don’t worry! Just add your frosting to a ziplock bag and cut off the tip. You just need to pipe a circle so the peanut butter cup sticks, and you get a little extra to come out as the decoration of the hat.
- Let the cookies set for about an hour, just for the frosting to set up before serving.
Storage
After the cookies have set up for about an hour, you can transfer to an airtight container. They will last at room temperature for about a week.
Freezing – Yes, you can even freeze these cookies. They are great to make ahead for the holidays and have ready to just bring out to thaw. They will last for about 2 months in the freezer.
