Want to take your next burger patty meal to the next level? How about trying the meaty ingredient with a satisfying crunch and the most delicious semi-sweet orange glaze? This Orange Crispy Burger is the perfect lunch or dinner meal when you’re craving something sweet.

It’s not too difficult to make either, as you’re mainly concerned with two separate steps – cooking your burger patties to perfection and whipping up that delicious orange glaze. And since this is an easy dish, you can definitely create it for your meal prep or packed lunches. It won’t take up too much of your day, and you’ll still end up with a delicious, crunchy dish that’ll perfectly energize you for the rest of the day!
How does Orange Crispy Burger taste?
There’s a reason dishes like soy-garlic chicken and sweet and sour fish work so perfectly. Mixing a crunchy ingredient—often also a protein like meat—with a slightly sugary sauce makes for an extremely rewarding contrast. You can bet that this dynamic is at play with this Orange Crispy Burger too!
A subtly tart and sweet glaze will first welcome your taste buds. All of that flavor — which comes from the white vinegar, red pepper flakes, and orange juice — seeps into the crunchy burger patties, too. The salty, flavorful patty is also key to making this whole recipe work. And because we eat it with some rice, this meal should fill you up pretty well. But don’t hesitate to make more than just one patty for yourself, as you may end up reaching for more!
How to make a crunchy orange burger
1. Fry the burger patties
- Heat Some Oil – Pour 2 tablespoons of cooking oil into a pan and apply some heat.
- Add Patties – Once the pan is hot, you can add 3 CDO Crispy Burger Patties. Then just fry them over medium heat. Make sure to flip the patty to the other side once one is already cooked and crispy. Put that aside for now as it’s time to get to work on our icing!
2. Creating the orange glaze
- Heat oil in another pan – We put some cooking oil in a pan and heat it up as before.
- Incorporating the Garlic, Ginger, and Sugar – Now we can add 3 cloves of garlic and ½ teaspoon of ginger, both chopped. Fry these together. After that, you can sprinkle 3 tablespoons of sugar. Wait for the sugar to melt before proceeding to the next step.
- Add some more flavor – We’re going to move on to our liquid ingredients. You need to add some sesame oil, orange juice, soy sauce and white vinegar. Then just let it boil. When it boils, you can add the red pepper flakes. Continue cooking for 1 minute.
- Make the sauce thick – We mix water and cornstarch in a bowl until perfectly blended. Now just add that to your pan and stir the entire mixture. We will keep stirring until the sauce is thick enough.
3. Assembling the bowl
- Serve the Orange Crispy Burger – We’re almost there! Simply place your cooked CDO Crispy Burger on your choice of serving plate and ensure it is beautifully presented. Add a cup of rice on the side. Then simply drizzle the orange glaze we made over all 3 patties. Finish things off by adding a garnish of 2 tablespoons chopped green onions.
