To-go pizza is often our dinner savior. Delivery and takeout come to our rescue with their time-saving capabilities when it comes to starting the weekend with an easy dinner, a crisp beer or vegan wine. Part of that convenience comes from not having to prepare the food ourselves. If you’re vegetarian, vegan, or trying to cut back on meat and dairy, it may seem obvious that pizza chains don’t have options for you. But, fortunately, that’s not the case with every pizzeria. Here’s how to order vegan at Domino’s, plus the latest on whether the chain plans to introduce plant-based cheeses and meats.

Does Domino’s have vegan pizza?
Imagine for a moment that Domino’s is a pizza chain that has dairy-free cheese and meatless pepperoni as a topping. Well, that domino exists—in the UK. Like many other American chains, UK branches are good when it comes to vegan options that don’t require customization.
Here in the US, Domino’s doesn’t have a vegetarian-by-default pizza option. However, you can make your own vegan pizza, from the crust to the toppings — not just the dairy-free cheese. There is a glimmer of hope though. In 2020, Domino’s CEO revealed that an internal team was testing a plant-based sausage crumble.
So, does Domino’s plan to test plant-based toppings in a smaller market, as other big chains have done? There has been no consumer-facing trial as of writing, but based on Allison’s statement two years ago, it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility. Domino’s did not return VegNews’ request for comment on future vegan menu items.
Other US pizza chains have dabbled with plant-based options. Pizza Hut Beyond Meat has launched a pie with Italian sausage, but only for a limited time. This was after a vegan meat topping chain trialed in Arizona in 2019. Little Caesars put plant-based pepperoni on its menu in summer 2021, but that option has also been discontinued. At both pizzerias, the limited-time offering did not include dairy-free cheese, but both could be made vegetarian by ordering without mozzarella.
Vegan options at Domino’s
Although Domino’s has vegan pizzas, not all of its pizza ingredients are plant-based. Besides the most obvious culprits, meat and dairy, some crusts and toppings contain animal products. Regardless, some of the chain’s dishes are easily made plant-based, starting with an adjustment or two or a custom order. Keep reading for Domino’s vegan menu options.

1 Vegan Pizza Crust at Domino’s
Domino’s has three types of crust on its menu, but only one option is vegan: the Crunchy Thin Crust. You won’t be able to fold this crispy crust like you can with douhier-crusted slices, but on the plus side, it can bear the weight of lots of toppings, which we encourage you to load up on. It can also resist vegan cheese if you order and you want to use your own dairy-free crumble. We say go for it.
2 Vegan sauce at Domino’s
Picking your sauce is step #2 and although red sauce sometimes contains cheese, Domino’s has a few options to choose from. Try mixing them up with different toppings depending on what kind of flavor you’re in the mood for. So you can breathe a sigh of relief. After all, what is dining without sauce? We never want to know.
- Barbecue sauce
- Garlic Dipping Sauce
- Hot Buffalo Sauce
- Italian dipping sauce
- Strong inspired tomato sauce
3 Vegan Toppings at Domino’s
All vegetable toppings are vegan and luckily, Domino’s has plenty of them. We like to add mushrooms to add some meaty texture and umami flavor in the absence of plant-based meat toppings like sausage or pepperoni. And rarely can we resist adding jalapeños.
As far as vegan toppings go, you can choose from:
- Banana pepper
- black olives
- Square tomato
- green chillies
- jalapenos
- mushroom
- onion
- pineapple
- Roasted red chillies
- Spinach
A vegan pizza from Domino’s gets the job done when you’re hungry. By mixing and matching the ingredients above, there are many ways you can order a vegan pizza at Domino’s.
For example, you can make a classic-style pizza with tomato sauce, mushrooms, black olives and onions. Or, you can try tomato and barbecue sauce with pineapple, roasted red peppers and jalapeños. If neither of these appeals to you, choose whichever one suits you best.
4 Vegan sandwiches at Domino’s
You might not be able to get a classic Italian-American pizza parlor-style meatball marinara sub, but you can get something fairly substantial. Order the Mediterranean veggie sandwich without the cheese and enjoy a medley of hot plantain peppers, onions, spinach and tomatoes between two slices of artisan bread.
Add Zorast-inspired tomato sauce, garlic dipping sauce, and Italian dipping sauce for more flavor, and don’t be afraid to ask for different vegetables depending on your preference.
5 Vegan Pasta at Domino’s
If you’re not in the mood for pizza or sandwiches, you can make your own pasta bowl. To do this, select the Build Your Own Pasta option, then select Hardy Marinara Sauce and three vegetable options. It’s also great with garlic dipping sauce, so throw it in as an extra.
Unfortunately, that covers what you can get when you order a vegan meal from this chain pizza joint. But, knowing these customizations can save the day if you ever find yourself hungry and near a domino. If you’ve ordered, we recommend sprinkling your pizza with nutritional yeast, or better yet, top with a slice of vegan cheese and broil on high for a few minutes or until it’s melted. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burns.
