Want to know how to make ketchup in no time? This is an easy option when you get tired and don’t want to go to the grocery store. I think this ketchup is as good as store bought and we love it on top of fries or hamburgers. You can double or triple the recipe. This ketchup will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Most people won’t be able to tell the difference unless you tell them.

How To Make Ketchup Simple Ingredients Required:

Tomato paste (you can also use homemade tomato paste)

Treasure

white wine vinegar

water

White granulated sugar

Salt

onion powder

garlic powder

Cayenne or can use black pepper


Simple substitutions and additions:

  • 1/2 corn syrup or maple syrup in place of the honey
  • Apple cider vinegar instead of the white vinegar
  • a pinch of ground cloves, ground allspice for cinnamon if you want it spicier
  • add basil or Italian seasoning for a different flavor
  • Add liquid smoke for a smoky flavor, wonderful on burgers!

You can freeze homemade ketchup in a ziplock bag for up to six months. This ketchup will keep in an airtight container for 2 weeks.

  • 1 6 ounce can tomato paste (you can use homemade tomato paste too)
  • 1/3 Cup honey
  • 1/2 Cup white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 Cup water
  • 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • prize Cayenne pepper or can use black pepper
  • Whisk together the ingredients and bring to a boil in a saucepan on the stove.

  • Switch back and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring a few times.

  • Makes about 1 1/4 cups.

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

You can use 1/2 cup of corn syrup in place of the honey to make this ketchup. You can also add a pinch of ground cloves, ground allspice, or cinnamon to this recipe if you want it spicier.
