A classic homemade gingerbread flavored hot chocolate. The perfect warming drink for Christmas!

Nothing beats a cup of hot chocolate with lots of toppings this time of year. The perfect warming drink when you’ve been out in the cold all day!
This version has a Christmassy twist as it’s flavored with gingerbread spices to make it extra festive!
If you think the kids don’t like the gingerbread flavor then maybe start with half the amount I listed in the ingredients and see how they get on with it.

The first step is to add milk, hot chocolate mixture and vanilla extract to a saucepan.
Then add the gingerbread spices; ground cinnamon, ground ginger and ground nutmeg.

Heat gently for 2-3 minutes to warm the milk, being careful not to let it boil.

Once heated, divide the hot chocolate between two mugs.

Then add any toppings you like. We love whipped cream, mini marshmallows, grated chocolate and a mini gingerbread man to finish!

Curl up on the couch with a Christmas movie on TV and enjoy this winter warmer!
