Our combination of Hulled Hemp Seeds, Ground Flaxseed, Pumpkin Seeds and Oats ensures you have a nutritious cookie that’s bursting with flavor healthy fats, vegetable proteins and dietary fiber.
You can find hemp seeds either whole or, more commonly, shelled. The hulled seeds are more tender and less bitter, but still packed with nutrients. However, compared to the whole they have fewer fibers because the outer shell is removed during processing.
Hemp seeds are incredibly rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids and complete plant-based proteins[1]. When you combine them with flaxseed, another great source of omega-3 fatty acids, you get almost 80% of your RDI for omega-3 fats in a single biscuit. Impressively!
For an even healthier recipe, we made them both vegan and sugar free, swap butter for applesauce and only use pitted plums. We soaked the plums and then mixed them with milk to make a naturally sweet paste with a lovely caramel-like flavor.
