Swedish plant-based food company Haverdals And popular Swedish burger chain Shady Burgers has joined forces to create Shady Vegan – a new menu that takes plant-based burgers to the “next level”.
“In short – burgers for everyone”
The companies have created five vegan burgers to add to Shady Burger’s menu, claiming they are able to convince even the most avid carnivore because they taste “as good as meat”.
“For us, quality is everything. We searched all over the country for an amazing vegan burger – finally, we found Haverdal that met our needs for quality, taste and vision,” explains Shady Burger.

“Incredibly good”
Based in Uppsala, Havredals makes plant-based food from oat drinks and cream to burgers and mincemeat. Its first product, Haverick Original, was launched in early 2020. Havredals products are available throughout Sweden in retail stores and through wholesalers to food service customers.
In January, the company partnered with Stockholm burger chain Bun Meat Bun to launch a plant-based chicken burger for vegans.
“Our goal is to make our plant-based burgers so good that you choose them not because they’re plant-based but simply because they taste incredibly good,” says Haverdal.

“Amazingly delicious burgers”
Because Havredals and Shady Burgers are committed to creating a fair, balanced dining experience for their customers, the burger patties are gluten and soy-free to make the experience accessible to everyone.
“Together with Shady Burgers, we bring this vision to life and introduce a whole new category of amazingly tasty burgers – that happen to be vegan. In short – burgers for everyone,” concludes Haverdals.
The new menu premiered on April 11th and will be available at all Shady Burgers restaurants in Halmstad, Kalmar, Växjö, Kristianstad, Landskrona, Lund, and Sölvesborg.
