Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has opened a new location of his Hell’s Kitchen chain in Washington, D.C., the first to be located outside a hotel or casino. list.
In fact, 60% of the menu is said to be meat-free, with tofu scallops, beet wellingtons, Vegan Butternut-Squash Risotto and Quinoa Salad. The massive 14,800-square-foot location is already reportedly fully booked for next month.
“I can finally admit that I actually like vegetarian food”
Some may find the vegan-friendly menu surprising, as Ramsay often hates plant-based foods and once said he was “allergic to vegans”. However, the chef began to change his tune over the years, tweeting in 2018 that he was “going to try this vegetarian thing” as he introduced a plant-based pizza at one of his London restaurants. The following year, he added the Impossible Burger to the menu of another restaurant, this time in Singapore.

The Secret of Gordon Ramsay
In 2021, Ramsay unexpectedly became one of the faces of Silk Oat Milk as part of its GOAT (Greatest of All Time) campaign. The brand has playfully dubbed him the “GOAT of Kitchen Shouts”.
Then, on a 2022 episode of US MasterChef, Ramsey revealed a secret that shocked the contestants.
“It’s a secret that’s so big, I’m almost afraid to say it on national television,” he said. “After all these years, I can finally admit that I actually like vegetarian food. It took me 20 years to get to this point. Thanks kids, I realized it’s okay to be vegan… sometimes!”
