Garlic Herb Olive Oil Bread Dip

When my sisters and I were in Florida we had one of the best meals ever.

You know the time when the company, place, food and ambience are in perfect harmony. Where you stop, take it all in and know it’s something special. The kind of moment that will be remembered forever. It was our last night in Florida so we went to dinner. Our table was on the water, we ate, talked and drank chilled glasses of wine. We four sisters were there hours Laugh and enjoy the platters of the most incredible sushi rolls. It was a magical night that we won’t soon forget.

However, if you’ve ever been to Island Way Grill in Clearwater, Florida, you might recognize this bread dip.

And if you haven’t already, you must go! Along with our wine, our waiter brought a basket of warm sourdough bread and a small plate of herbs and garlic, and drizzled olive oil over them. This easy bread dip was so amazing I asked the waiter if he knew what was in it. To my surprise, he pulled out a thin sheet of paper with the ingredients listed and said they were asked about them often. I stashed the paper and vowed to recreate it when I got back to Michigan.

Garlic Herb Olive Oil Bread Dip

And I did. One plate serves four, so this recipe makes two small plates – trust me, you’ll want it. However, the recipe can easily be halved, doubled or tripled. And when the oil runs out and there are still a few garlic herbs left, just top it up with a little more olive oil.
