Recommended ingredients
clementines: This recipe calls for frozen clementine slices. Therefore, be sure to peel and freeze your clementines before using them! Alternatively, you can use frozen oranges.
aperol: This bittersweet appetizer is used in the slushies and beyond!
Simple syrup: Always add simple syrup to taste, depending on how sweet you want it.
sparkling wine: It wouldn’t be an Aperol Spritz without the champagne. Feel free to use champagne, prosecco or even a sparkling rosé.
Ice: Ice is essential for the “mushy” texture. It shouldn’t be too reminiscent of a smoothie.
Simple instructions
- Freeze: Peel the clementine wedges and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Place in the freezer for at least 1 hour, preferably until frozen solid.
- mixture: Once the clementines are frozen, add them to the blender along with the simple syrup, champagne, Aperol and ice. Stir everything until smooth.
- Pour: Pour the slushy into glasses and garnish with a dash of Aperol and a slice of orange.
Top: Try our dried orange garland as a drink topper instead!
