Friday Bites: Old Bag of Nails Clintonville Closes, Saba Opens in East Market

There’s always a lot going on in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • Old Bag of Nails announced on social media this week that its Clintonville location at 4416 N. High St. has closed for good. No reason was given for the closure and no other locations appear to be affected.
  • Middle Eastern halal fast casual Saba Columbus has opened a stall in East Market. Saba allows you to create your own dishes or pita with a variety of meats, vegetables and dressings.
  • The pearl market is back for the season starting next Tuesday, May 16 next week. It will work every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Sunlight Market returns every third Sunday from May to October (starting on May 21st) and the Moonlight Market returns on the second Saturday of each month, starting this Saturday May 13th.
  • Giant Eagle opened its newly renovated Market District in Westerville this week. The store is located at 650 N. State St.
  • This Saturday, May 13th at 9am, Rose Dough Donuts is hosting a Donut + Yoga fundraiser to benefit the Clintonville Beechwold Resource Center. The class will be held out of the CRC administrative offices at 3222 N. High St.
  • Korean fried chicken 92 Chicken announced last week that it has been renamed Mashida Chicken. Mashida currently has two locations, one in Delaware and one in Westerville.
  • This Monday, May 15th is National Slider Day, and White Castle is offering free cheese sliders to customers who download and present this coupon.
