I love a good coffee shop and recently I finally got to visit River Road Coffeehouse in Granville. The cafe, which is actually on River Road and is housed in a late Victorian house, is a cozy place that is undergoing some modernization and updating.
As it is located in an old house, River Road is a charming mix of rooms and corridors. Find your way through the back door and go to the counter to order.
River Road offers a full menu of brewed coffee, espresso, cold brew, hot and cold flavored lattes, teas, smoothies, baked goods and a couple of sandwiches.
There are several rooms to relax, read, work, catch up with friends. It is currently undergoing renovation, so there are new floors, lighting, tables and chairs.
One room has a gas fireplace, while others include comfortable chairs. There’s also an enclosed porch, if you’re looking for a little more sun.
The coffee is supplied by One Line Coffee, which is roasted nearby in Heath.
River Road is a great little stop, with friendly service, expertly brewed coffee and a good selection of snacks.
River Road started here at the Granville store, but has three other locations: on the square and 21st Street in Newark, and in Gambier.
