Over the years, we’ve found many great places to stay in the Hocking Hills, from many cabins to places like the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls or the Glenlaurel Scottish Inn & Cottages. But there’s always something amazing to discover, and we were recently invited to spend the night at the Magical Earth Retreat, which has a series of cabins that look like hobbit holes!

The shelter is built into the hillside of a Creole property, about 20 minutes south of Logan.

It currently has four of the cabins, which can sleep two to four people.

We were accommodated in the Daisy cabin, which includes a small living room, kitchenette, queen bed, bunk beds, and bathroom.

Each cabin includes a small hot tub, heated by a wood-burning fireplace. This means you have to be a little more active to keep warm.

The site also includes a small sauna with capacity for a couple of people.

And there is a bonfire for community use.

The lodge is located about 20 minutes south of Logan, close to many of the great hikes on Hocking Hill or activities like the John Glenn Astronomy Park. You can drive to Logan for coffee shops, breweries, and restaurants like The Feed.
If you need a cozy place to sleep while exploring the area, Magic Earth Retreat is definitely a fun stop!
