Frozen yogurt crusts are the kind of recipe you make and can’t believe you’ve lived your life without. It’s basically the answer to all your sweet snack dreams! It’s an easy, low-fat recipe that’s ALSO as delicious as — dare we say it — frozen yogurt itself.

Better yet, this frozen treat is easy to customize to your liking. So you can use whatever toppings you like, whether it’s different fruits, your favorite granola, or even chopped nuts. We recommend enjoying this Greek Yogurt Crust on hot summer days, but let’s face it – it tastes amazing any time of the year!

  • Greek yogurt: We used 5% plain Greek yogurt, but you can use any plain yogurt.
  • maple syrup: A natural sweetener that enhances all other great flavors.
  • cocoa powder: We used unsweetened cocoa powder since the other ingredients are sweet enough!
  • Chocolate Granola: Granola adds a nice crunch to the frozen yogurt crust. We used chocolate because we LOVE chocolate.
  • strawberries: We sliced ​​our strawberries to keep the rind nice and flat and easy to eat.
  • Chocolate Chips: Melted chocolate chips taste so delicious when drizzled onto the fruit. Think chocolate covered strawberries!

Simple ingredient swap

  • greek yogurt -> any other natural yoghurt you like!
  • maple syrup –> honey
  • Chocolate Granola –> simple muesli
  • strawberries -> Blueberries, raspberries or any other berry you prefer
  • chocolate chips -> Chocolate chips or other flavored chocolate chips

Yes! You can use any frozen or fresh fruit you like to top this frozen yogurt crust. However, if you’re using larger fruits like strawberries, it’s best to go fresh so you can cut them more easily.

There are so many different ways to experience this frozen yogurt crust. Here are some of our favorite delicious topping ideas for a little inspiration:

  • Nuts: Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pecans, macadamias, hazelnuts or pistachios.

How to make delicious frozen yogurt crust

PREPARE THE BAKING SHEET

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

MIX YOGURT RINK INGREDIENTS

in a big bowl, Mix together Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and cocoa powder until cocoa powder is fully incorporated. Add 1 cup chocolate granola and mix again.

TRANSFERRED TO BAKING SHEET

Next, pour the Greek yogurt mixture over the parchment paper, spread it evenly over the baking sheet until it’s about ¼ inch thick.

Then Scatter over the sliced ​​strawberries and top with the last ¼ cup of granolapress it lightly into the yogurt.

Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Then microwave in 20 second increments on high for 1 minute or until melted and shiny. Be sure to stir them every 20 seconds.

Drizzle the melted chocolate over all the ingredients. Then place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 2 hours or until the yogurt is completely frozen.

BREAK IN BARK + ENJOY

Don’t forget to line your baking sheet with parchment paper. You can use wax paper or aluminum foil when you’re on the go. This way you can easily remove the rind from the shell after freezing.

If you want a creamier frozen yogurt crust, use a full-fat yogurt instead of the 5% fat we used in this recipe. Alternatively, non-fat yogurt may cause the rind to taste too icy.

Make sure you cut your fruit into smaller pieces if needed. If they’re too bulky, the rind won’t flatten out as much, making them difficult to eat.
