Dark chocolate and natural peanut butter are melted and then drizzled over freshly popped popcorn to create this fun and easy snack or dessert recipe!

My kids are obsessed with popcorn. Ok, let’s face it, our whole family is obsessed with popcorn! Can you blame us? Easy to make, ready in minutes, crunchy, salty – what’s not to love? While we usually enjoy it smothered in olive oil and then sprinkled with some salt, I love to surprise the boys with this sweet and salty chocolate peanut butter popcorn for family movie nights. It’s a bit messy, but super delicious without the guilt that many treats bring.
Ingredients
- Popcorn: I love using rainbow seeds for a mix of tender and crunchy popcorn, but use whatever you can find!
- Peanut butter: Natural, creamy peanut butter is my choice as it melts and is easy to drizzle over the popcorn.
- Chocolate: I always use dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa solids because of the added antioxidants and associated benefits. But if you’re not a fan of dark chocolate, you can use milk chocolate as well.
How to make chocolate peanut butter popcorn

Start your chocolate peanut butter popcorn by popping some unpopped kernels.

You could use microwave popcorn, but I guess I’m a little old fashioned and love popping my popcorn on the stovetop. You can also use an electric air popper.

Once your popcorn is done popping, pour it into a large bowl and sprinkle with some salt.

Then place the peanut butter in a smaller bowl and soften in the microwave.

I like to break up baker’s chocolate before putting it in a small bowl to melt in the microwave as well.

Once the peanut butter has melted, drizzle it over the popcorn.

Then the melted chocolate.

Stir gently to evenly coat all of the popcorn without crushing the popped kernels.

Serve immediately and enjoy your chocolate peanut butter popcorn!
Mix things up
- Make it saltier. For a saltier and sweeter mix, you can break up some pretzels and add them to the mix.
- Make it chocolatier. Add a few semi-sweet chocolate chips at the end for even more chocolate.
