We love a good quick breakfast at my house. With two busy boys approaching their teenage years and my husband and I both working there is always somewhere we can hurry! Overnight oats are one of our favorites as they’re filling and delicious but don’t take time in the morning when you need a break. My Chocolate Peanut Butter Overnight Oats is one that we keep coming back to, although you can customize overnight oats in many ways!

Ingredients

  • Milk: I use low-fat milk, but you can make this with any non-dairy alternative like almond milk or coconut milk.
  • Yogurt: You could use vanilla flavor if you don’t have anything else, but I like to use plain yogurt. Use Greek yogurt to boost protein, or a non-dairy yogurt for a vegan option.
  • Banana: Acts as a natural sweetener and full of vitamins and nutrients.
  • Peanut butter: Packed with protein and naturally sweet and creamy, I love using natural peanut butter for my oatmeal.
  • cocoa powder: Rich chocolate flavor that pairs well with peanut butter, cocoa powder is also packed with antioxidants.
  • Cinammon: Adds just a little spice to balance the flavors.
  • Vanilla: Vanilla helps enhance the flavors around her.
  • Old-fashioned oats: Also called oatmeal, they’re packed with fiber, iron, and magnesium. They soak to become a soft and chewy texture.
  • Flaxseed Meal: Doesn’t add anything in flavor but they add a lot of nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids.

How to make Chocolate Peanut Butter Overnight Oats

Put yoghurt in bowl 1

Start your overnight oats by mixing your yogurt with your milk in a large bowl or measuring cup.

Put the mashed bananas in the bowl

Then add the mashed banana.

whip milk

Whisk until combined.

Pour in the melted peanut butter

Then in a separate mug, melt the peanut butter in the microwave and add to the milk mixture.

Add cocoa powder

Next add the cocoa powder and cinnamon.

Add vanilla

Drizzle in the vanilla and stir.

Add flaxseed flour

Next add the flaxseed meal.

Put the oats in the bowl

And finish by adding your oatmeal.

Stir together the overnight ofer

Stir until evenly mixed and all ingredients incorporated.
