This recipe for Chocolate Chip Vanilla Matcha Muffins is a new, unique treat everyone will enjoy! Combining the earthy matcha aroma with the fluffiness of a muffin, these baked goodies are perfect for breakfast or a mid-day snack.
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED?
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoon matcha (ceremonial grade for a brighter green color)
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil (or preferred)
- 2 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup mini chocolate chips

Technically, any grade of tea could be used for desserts or baked goods, but ceremonial grade matcha is typically higher quality and will give a much brighter green color. I did not use a “ceremonial grade” matcha for this recipe, and it was just as delicious. It depends on your preference what you want to purchase, really.
