This recipe is very versatile. You can prepare them exactly as your family enjoyed them.
- I made these sliders with the Hawaiian King Slider Rolls (9 per pack) or the Hawaiin Rolls (12 per pack); use what you like.
- You can make your own chili dog sauce for this recipe or use canned chili. I have done both.
- I made these with white and red onions. I added jalapenos and assorted cheeses. You can use sliced or grated cheese.

Chili Cheese Dog Sled
These simple sliders come together so quickly!
Servings: 6 portions
- 1 Package of Hawaiian Rolls
- 1 Pack of hot dogs
- Cheddar cheese cut or shredded
- Diced white onion
- 1 (15) ounce can of chili with or without beans, depending on your taste
- 2 tablespoon from butter melted
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
-
Preheat oven to 375 and grease a baking dish. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom of the rolls in the pan. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar or sliced cheese. Cut hot dogs in half, then cut in half and place side-by-side on top of the cheese.
-
Sprinkle with chilli, onions and more cheese, then put the buns back on. Brush the top of the buns with melted butter, sprinkle with garlic powder and bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted and top of sliders are golden brown.
Depending on how many sliders you make will determine if you use all of the hotdogs in the pack. Sometimes I’ll take the leftover hot dogs and stack another small piece on top of the other hot dogs to have three small pieces on each slider.
