If your kid loves to eat plain pasta, try this simple trick of cooking them in bone broth. It adds protein, collagen and amino acids to make your favorite food a little bit healthier.

When you have a child on a very basic diet, sometimes it can be worrying if they are getting enough of the right nutrients.
I love finding little hacks to increase the nutritional content of their favorite foods without altering those foods to cause a mealtime meltdown.
This bone broth pasta is a great trick for kids who like to eat their pasta easy.

You only need two ingredients; Noodles and Bone Broth.
There are many bone broths on the market. I like this one as it is very naturally made and not overly diluted. If you like, you can also do it yourself at home.

How to make pasta with bone broth
To make pasta with bone broth, simply add macaroni or other pasta shapes to a large saucepan with the cold bone broth.
Cooking the pasta will take a little longer than usual since you’re starting with cold broth, not boiling water. The macaroni I used usually cook in 6-8 minutes, but I cooked them for 10 minutes.
If you use a larger pasta shape, it may take a little longer.

Cook until the noodles are tender and all the broth has been absorbed.
At this point, the noodles will look like regular noodles that have been boiled in water and then drained.
How does bone broth pasta taste?
You might worry that the bone broth will change the flavor of the pasta and your child won’t like it.
Personally, I don’t think it tastes any different than cooking pasta in regular broth.
I tried it on my kids and they certainly didn’t know that the macaroni was cooked differently.

How to serve bone broth pasta
You can serve Bone Broth Pasta plain if your child normally likes their pasta that way.
They can also add butter or cheese or any other additions they like.
Can I add vegetables to bone broth pasta?
Yes absolutely! You can add some chopped frozen veggies for the last 4-5 minutes of cooking or some already cooked veggies at the end.
