🍋Why make this lemonade
Lavender can be tricky to use in cooking: adding too much can destroy a recipe, making it taste like soap. This was my main concern while developing this recipe, and it took me a few tries to get it perfect for everyone!
This lemonade recipe uses a combination of lemons, lavender tea and a delicious homemade cranberry syrup, which sweetens and adds that amazing flavor to your lemonade. The best part: This simple syrup can be made with frozen blueberries and in less than 15 minutes.

🫗How to do it

Mix hot water with dried lavender for lavender tea. Soak for 10 minutes.

Remove the dried lavender from the tea, straining through a fine mesh strainer.

Squeeze the juice from about 3 lemons, or until you have ½ cup lemon juice.

In a pitcher, add the lemon juice, cranberry syrup, chilled lavender tea and cold water.

Stir to combine.

Half fill a glass with ice and pour in lemonade.
📝 Expert advice
- Rolling the lemons on the counter helps release the juices;
- Adding ice only when serving will make for a less watery lemonade. It’s also easier to store.

🙋🏻♀️Questions you may have
Yes, and it’s really easy: add a shot of vodka (1.5 oz/43 ml) to a cup of lemonade (8 oz/240 ml).
If you’re sparkling, replace the water with sparkling water or club soda. For a medium sparkling version, replace only half the amount of water.
🧊 Storage and freezing
Store homemade lemonade in the refrigerator for about 5 days. Store without ice so you don’t get watered down berry lemonade. Cover the pitcher with a lid or plastic/beeswax wrap before placing in the refrigerator, to prevent any unpleasant flavors.
You can freeze this recipe. When I do, I use ice trays to make lemonade ice cubes. Later, you can remove from the ice tray and store in a freezer safe bag or container. Thaw the lemonade cubes on the counter or in the fridge, or use them as ice when you make your next batch!
