BLT Dip – Dinner, Dishes and Desserts

BLT Dip – an easy cool and creamy dip with bacon, lettuce and tomatoes! The classic sandwich in dip form should not be missing at any meeting.

Dips are always a hit at any gathering, and they’re usually one of the first things to go. Especially when bacon is involved! This dip is such a simple and easy recipe that you can make in just minutes.

I love a good BLT and it can be turned into so many different things. Like a BLT salad or even a BLT pasta salad are two of my favorites. And this dip is just another fun alternative.

This cold BLT dip starts with a base of cream cheese and sour cream to make it nice and smooth. I like to use ranch dressing mix to add flavor because, to be honest, I’m just not a fan of plain cream cheese. But if you want to skip the ranch mix, a lot of people still love it that way.

You can mix up the dip the day before and then just add the toppings when you’re ready to serve. So it’s great for gatherings.

what you will need

  • cream cheese
  • Sour
  • cream
  • Ranch dressing mix
  • bacon
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Shredded lettuce

You can use store-bought ranch dressing mix. But I always have this homemade ranch dressing mix on hand, so I use it.

How to make BLT Dip

Be sure to scroll down to the recipe card for measurements and full instructions!

  1. The first thing you need to do is brown and crisp your bacon. I like to make Air Fryer Bacon and then just cut it into chunks. You have to do it in batches but it works great. You can use the oven or the stovetop… whatever your preferred method is.
  2. Mix together sour cream and cream cheese until nice and smooth.
  3. Add the ranch dressing mixture and stir well to combine.
  4. Stir in about half the chopped tomatoes and half the bacon into the cream cheese mixture and mix until evenly combined.
  5. Spread this mixture in a pie plate or some sort of serving platter. Top with chopped lettuce and remaining bacon and tomatoes.
  6. Serve with your favorite dippers.

recipe variations

  • If you don’t like sour cream you can use Greek yogurt or even mayo or a combination of all 3. You will need 1 cup total, this could be 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup mayo, it could be either one or any combination.
  • I like to use Roma tomatoes for this because they’re not super juicy and have a lot of seeds. You don’t want a ton of juice in your dip or it’s just going to be soggy and not very good. Cherry or grape tomatoes would be a great substitute, or if you have a beefsteak tomato to use up, you could squeeze out some of the liquid.
  • wanna keep it lighter You can use turkey bacon and low-fat sour cream and cream cheese to cut some calories and fat. I wouldn’t use non-fat either though, they just don’t mix that well.
  • A lot of people love cheese with a BLT, so make it and add cheese! When I do this, I add about 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top before tossing salad on top.

Best Spoons for BLT Dip

This is where you can really get creative! If you want bread like the traditional sandwich you can use crostini or even just toasted bread triangles and use it more like a spread than a dip. Otherwise, here are a few of my favorites.

  • pretzel thinner
  • tortilla chips
  • Potato Chips
  • cracker
  • Vegetables – peppers, carrots, celery
