A great barbecue isn’t complete without a delicious BBQ sauce. So today we want to share ours with you sweet and spicy Apricot BBQ Sauce. It’s an exciting summery glaze that will add flavor to any meal! Let’s do it!
You’ll need a few simple ingredients, most of which you probably already have in your pantry. Ripe and juicy fresh apricots should not be missing in this recipe for color and sweetness. But if they are out of season, you can use the dried ones as well. Below you will find all our tips on how to exchange.
While there’s no standard recipe for apricot barbecue sauce, we inspired ours from America’s Traeger sauce. We’ve adjusted the ingredients to give it a balanced taste, but you can also adjust the amounts to get the finish you want: sweeter, tangier, or smokier. We’ll tell you how to do this below.
What really makes this BBQ sauce stand out is the unique flavor of apricots, sweet yet a little tangy. And when you combine it with the acidity of vinegar, the spiciness of mustard, and the warmth of smoked paprika, you get a pretty delicious glaze!
This Apricot BBQ Sauce goes with pretty much anything. And since it is dairy free and vegan, you can use it in all your favorite plant-based recipes. It’s perfect for marinating and glazing veggies, bean burgers, pulled jackfruit, and tempeh wings, or making baked beans, quesadillas, and tacos.
Once you’ve tried it, you’ll probably use it everywhere, just like we did! But don’t worry, you’ll have enough for a while because our recipe yields 380g (140z), the size of a medium sauce bottle. And a 2 tablespoon serving comes with it only 20 calories! Hooray!
