Airfryer sausage and cheese soldiers arranged on a white round plate. With a boiled egg in an egg cup. And halved cherry tomatoes.

In the winter it can be nice to sometimes give the kids a cooked breakfast and something high in protein to keep them full all morning.

I recently started making these Sausage & Cheese Soldiers and my kids absolutely love them.

They’re cooked in the Airfryer along with the egg, making it a super quick and easy breakfast that’s ready in under 10 minutes.

The first step is to take a sausage and remove the skin.

I use a chicken sausage for this recipe, but pork or vegetable sausages will work too.

Sausage skins are removed with scissors.

After removing the skin, mash the sausage into a slice of bread.

This is just regular white bread, but feel free to use brown bread, whole wheat bread, or whatever you like.

Sausage meat is spread on a slice of white bread with a fork.

Then top with some grated cheddar cheese.

Grated cheese is now placed on the sausage meat.

Put this in the Airfryer along with an egg.

Cook at 180°C for 6 minutes. The egg will be soft-boiled, so if your kids prefer a hard-boiled egg, cook a little longer.

After cooking, cut the sausage and cheese toast into soldiers.

I served it with chopped cherry tomatoes, but that’s totally optional.
