Today’s post is as simple as can be and a post for seafood lovers, especially scallop lovers. We love scallops and there are so many ways to cook scallops. Seared scallops give you the perfect golden sear with a rich buttery flavor. Oven Baked Scallops give you a delicious scallop with a decadent crunch from the topping.
It only came naturally to me to try air fryer scallops if you’ve followed my love of air fryer recipes. The trick with Airfryer recipes is always to keep your food on a single layer and check halfway through to either shake or flip the food.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Scallops
- Scallops: I used smaller scallops, but you can use any scallop size you want.
- salt and pepper
- Olive oil (I love Moroccan olive oil mina)
- You can add your favorite spices here: onion powder, garlic powder, paprika powder, chili powder, etc. However, I only added salt and pepper since I’m using the chimichurri recipe to finish.
Prepare scallops from the air fryer step by step
- Start by patting your scallops dry with paper towels. This is important so that spices/flavors stick to the scallops and the scallops also crisp up in the air fryer.
- At this point you can go ahead and season your scallops with salt, pepper and olive oil and toss well.
- Now arrange the scallops in the air fryer basket. It’s best to spray the basket first and, as always, remember to arrange the scallops in a single layer.
- Now you will air fry at 400 degrees F for 6 minutes. Then flip the scallops and air sear them for another 4 minutes until done.
- Drizzle the chimichurri sauce over the cooked scallops and serve immediately! We prefer to serve them over a salad plate with extra capers and red chillies 🙂

Start by patting the scallops dry with kitchen paper on a plate.

Season the scallops with salt, pepper and olive oil. Be sure to season the scallops well.

Arrange all the scallops in your Airfryer basket in a single layer. It’s crucial that they lie in a single layer to cook evenly and have a golden crust.

Air fry the scallops at 400 degrees F for 6 minutes, then flip the scallops and air fry for an additional 4 minutes.
