Air Fryer Salmon
I’m obsessed with this salmon recipe because it’s so quick and delicious! Cooking salmon in an air fryer yields the most tender, juicy fish, and it’s so quick and easy too! The maple soy glaze is delicious and only 4 ingredients. pure maple syrup, sriracha, soy sauce and garlic. Best of all, this couldn’t be easier, let the fish marinate for 15 minutes and then air fry for 6 to 8 minutes. This is my favorite Air Fryer Salmon recipe, but when I want something with a different flavor profile, I also love this Chili Lime Air Fryer Salmon and Basil Parmesan Salmon. Air Fryer Salmon Variations:
I never order salmon from a restaurant because I know it tastes a lot better when I make it myself, especially when I air fry it. This Air Fryer Salmon is marinated with Asian flavors, but you can keep it simple! Attempt:
- Salmon seasoned with salt and black pepper and topped with freshly squeezed lemon to keep it simple.
- Play around with different seasonings on your salmon like Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, etc.
- Try honey instead of maple syrup in this recipe.

How to cook salmon in the air fryer
- When the salmon is frozen Thaw overnight in the refrigerator or place the covered fish in a large bowl of cold water until the fish is thawed.
- Cut the salmon fillet into four equal pieces or buy pre-sliced fillets and marinate them in maple syrup, sriracha, garlic and soy sauce for 15 to 20 minutes. You can keep the skin or remove it if you like.
- Then Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray or use parchment paper for the air fryer (with holes) to prevent sticking and place in the air fryer.
- The air fryer does not need to be preheated. Depending on the thickness of the salmon, the fish should take about 6-8 minutes. Which air fryer is the best?
There are so many great air fryers out there. Having tested several for my two air fryer cookbooks, I currently use and love the Go Wise 7L Air Fryer (Amazon affiliate links). I like it because the basket is bigger and it’s 1700 so it’s strong!
What do you serve with air fryer salmon?
I like to serve salmon with brown rice or potatoes and a salad or vegetables like broccoli, pak choi or Brussels sprouts.
Helpful tips for air frying salmon
- Spray the basket with a non-propellant oil or use parchment for the air fryer to prevent skin from sticking to the basket.
- It is not necessary to preheat the hot air fryer.
- Do not overfill the basket so you can get adequate airflow.
- The salmon does not need to be turned, it will cook well on both sides.
- To know if the salmon is ready, the fish changes from translucent (red or raw) to opaque (pink) as it cooks. Check the doneness after 6 to 8 minutes by looking into the thickest part with a sharp knife or fork. It should flake off but still be slightly translucent in the center when done.
How to save
Store leftover salmon in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
