Karaage is a Japanese dish typically made with marinated boneless chicken and fried. It is very popular and loved by children and even adults. Here’s an easy Japanese karaage recipe that you can easily make at home without going through the messy frying process. Simply marinate the chicken, mix with flour and cook in the air fryer. I made mine using the Ninja Foodi Multi Cooker which makes the crunchy meal perfect, the chicken turned out absolutely delicious with a crispy outside and juicy inside just like the fried version without the oil! Same comforting taste, no oily mess 🙂
Ingredients:

150 g boneless chicken thighs, cut into pieces
2 tbsp crunchy flour
Marinade:
1 tsp mirin
1 tbsp cornmeal
1/4 tsp grated ginger
1/4 tsp garlic powder/garlic puree
Pinch of salt & pepper

1. Mix ingredients for marinade and chicken and let marinate for 30 minutes.
2. Preheat Ninja Foodi BAKE/ROAST mode at 200°C for 3 minutes.

3. Mix in the crunchy flour, AIRCRISP for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
