Albertsons adds 12 plant-based products, including dairy-free cheese and oat ice cream, to launch Nature brand

American grocery chain Albertsons announced that it is expanding its private label Open Nature brand with 12 new plant-based products, ranging from shredded cheese and yogurt to oat and almond ice cream. The new offerings join Open Nature’s existing selection of plant-based foods and are now available at Albertsons supermarkets and its banner stores, including Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco and ACME.

“We want to make sure our customers have a variety of options, high-quality products and thoughtfully selected ingredients.”

According to Albertsons, Open Nature offers consumers delicious food that is made with carefully selected ingredients that do not contain unnecessary additives. New plant-based additives include:

  • free milk Coconut yogurt In vanilla, strawberry, raspberry and mango flavors.
  • non dairy cream cheese Among the roots and chives and onions.
  • non dairy Shredded cheese A mozzarella and cheddar blend.
  • Oat Frozen Desserts Vanilla Bean, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel flavors.
  • Almond frozen dessert Cherry Maximum Fuzz in Moose Track and Caramel Macchiato flavors.

A better option for you

The new offerings add to Open Nature’s existing plant-based portfolio, which includes almond milks, dairy-free buttery spreads and protein powders.

“Research shows that more Americans are adopting good-for-you eating patterns as a way to protect their long-term health and prevent future health conditions,” said Brandon Brown, SVP of Own Brands at The Albertsons Company.
