I recently bought a crustless machine. And the kids love it!

A crustless maker magically transforms boring sandwiches into special treats. What was once just a sandwich now becomes a moon. Or it turns into a round sled. Even more, a sandwich can be turned into a trampoline!

I don’t usually encourage playing with food. However, this is an exception for a good reason.

A crustless machine seals the sandwich very well. So the fillings never fall out while the kids are eating (or playing). No sticky fingers!

We have tried many different fillings since we bought our crustless machine. In our experience, you can easily go sweet or salty.

One of our favorites is homemade chocolate without a crust. That’s why I’m sharing the recipe with you today! We hope you and your family like this too.

What chocolate cream is used for the crusts?

This is the most important question when making a crustless chocolate!

If you are making a crustless cat chocolate, I would suggest using Nutella. Smucker’s Uncrustables, the kind you buy at the store, use a chocolate hazelnut spread.

Despite this, I found a chocolate spread that I think is even more delicious. In addition, it is much healthier.

Barney Butter makes delicious chocolate almond butter. We love it! It’s super soft. And it has just the right amount of sweetness.

Personally, after trying several different chocolate creams, this is my favorite. Compared to Nutella, Barney Butter Chocolate Cream wins hands down. It is very good and great to eat for breakfast.

One reason is that it is soft and easy to spread. Plus, there’s only 2g of added sugar per serving. This compares to 21g of added sugar in each serving of Nutella!

Which crustless machine is better?

There are many non-crust makers on Amazon. It took me a while to find one that I love.

This is the one I use. And I think it works great!

The one I have makes the classic Smucker’s Uncrustables rim shape. Some of the other sandwich sealers end up giving the sandwich a wavy edge. Not good if your kids are picky or more observant.

Simple two-step process

Using the crustless machine requires 2 steps. With your sandwich ready, first use the regular circle cutter to cut the crust. Second, push the sealing mold down to make the perfect sealed edge.

Voila! Your homemade crustable is ready!

Tips for this homemade recipe without chocolate crust

This is a very simple recipe. But here are some tips below. My goal is to help you make the best homemade crustless crust.

Use soft bread

Using a soft bread will make the best without a crust. This is because the bread will not split or tear when you use the circle cutter and sealer.

I have good success using Wonder Bread or Nature’s Own Honey Wheat. Other sliced ​​sandwich breads will also work well.

Although we usually eat whole grain breads, they don’t work well with homemade crustables. Unfortunately, the texture of these loaves doesn’t hold up to the sandwich cutter. Instead, the embed will often open.

Don’t use too much spread

It’s surprising how easily the filling of a crust will overflow. As such, when making your sandwich, don’t layer too much.

Keep the tile in the center

You don’t need to spread the filling all over the sandwich bread. So, try to keep the filling in the center of the sandwich. By doing this, the spread won’t ooze out when you try to cut and seal the sandwich.
