Last year, three key players in the vegan scene attended the Salon de l’Agriculture, France’s international agricultural show. This year, the show takes place from February 25 to March 5, and three vegan startups are back to show consumers that it’s possible to consume food differently in a sustainable and cruelty-free way.

The three startups present this year are Heura from Barcelona; Les Nouveaux Affineurs from Paris; and Onami Foods of Brittany.
Huge success for plant-based alternatives
Impressively, Heura says it “sold more products at France’s biggest meat event than at any other event in the past (even vegan ones)! In fact, we ran out of stock at 3pm when we planned for a much bigger stock than last year. Most French people buy their meat wants to reduce consumption and yesterday at the Paris International Agricultural Show there was a new proof of that! Whatever their age or origin, whatever their profession, farmers, butchers, they are all bluffed when they use Heura Foods!” The Spanish startup shared on its social channels
Les Nouveaux Affineurs joins in to show once again that cheese and vegetarianism can go together in deliciousness. The French startup makes ripened cheeses that are sold to stores, restaurants and even overseas retailers such as Swiss retail leader Migros where the products were listed last November.
Young startup Onami Foods is on the lookout for alternatives to fish and their consumption can save the ocean by avoiding by-catch, plastic pollution and protecting marine life.
