PKN, a dairy-free brand owned by sustainable food company Lifestock, has announced that it is launching a ‘new generation’ of plant-based creamers made from pecan milk. In March 2023, the brand will debut two creamer varieties, Original and Vanilla, on its website, followed by a rollout at Sprouts Farmers Markets.
“The pecan is the only commercial tree nut native to the United States.”
Described as a creamy, flavorful addition to coffee and tea, PKN uses the naturally occurring richness and fat found in pecans to complement the acidity of coffee and the tannins of tea. In addition to hot drinks, pecan milk can be added to cereal, smoothies, granola or morning oats.
Available in Original and Sweet Vanilla, PKN’s new creamer is made without added sugar or oil and contains omega-3s, antioxidants, calcium, zinc; As well as vitamins A, B and E. According to PKN, pecans provide the highest ratio of antioxidants of all commercial tree nuts.

Like the company’s other products, the creamers are gluten-free, non-GMO, kosher and certified by the Upcycled Food Association.
Environmental benefits
Based in Texas, PKN’s original products include Pecanmilk Carton Original and Chocolate Flavor. PKN also says it works with pecan growers and strives to create environmental benefits by integrating “leading edge” innovations into its products, such as upcycling ingredients, using waste-free production processes and extended shelf-life packaging.

CEO Laura Schenker notes that pecans are native tree nuts that can thrive on low resources in their natural environment.
“While alternative milk is always a more sustainable choice than traditional dairy milk, not all nut milks and creamers are created equal,” says Shenkar, CEO and founder of PKN. “We chose to make pecanmilk because pecans are the only commercial tree nut native to the United States. As a native plant, pecans are not dependent on water imported from distant sources.”
