South End Cafe opens on Parsons Avenue

A new Community Development for All People (CD4AP) social enterprise opened this week on Parsons Avenue! The South End Cafe offers coffee and snacks and is dedicated to hiring those who need help building a work history and developing important skills.

We caught the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the cafe, which is located on Parsons Avenue at the eastern end of the Reeb-Hosack neighborhood on the South Side.

The long cafe space features exposed brick walls and tiles, lots of natural light from the street.

The cafe currently offers a menu of drip coffee, espresso, tea, hot chocolate and snacks like muffins.

The walls are adorned with works by local artists, most of which are now reproductions of murals scattered around the city.

And the space includes tables and counters with plenty of outlets for studying, working and meeting.
