We’ve been following Destination Donuts for a decade, starting when we first hosted owner Heather Morris for a cooking demo at Wild Goose Creative in 2013, then as a pop-up at North Market before becoming a permanent stop there.
In late 2021, it closed the market stall and moved Destination Donuts to its first stand-alone location in the heart of Clintonville, opening there in April 2022.
The donut shop is located in the heart of Clintonville in a commercial strip that includes Wild Cat Gift & Party and Katalina’s, Too. The store is in the center of the Clintonville Farmers Market footprint.
The space is based more on the take-out business, although there are a couple of tables near the front windows.
Destination Donuts specializes in two types of donuts: large donut holes called “nibblers” and giant yeasted sweets.
The flavors rotate daily, with about 6-8 different characteristics. You’ll usually find their Dueling Vanilla, Red Raspberry Hibiscus, and other combinations of chocolate, fruit, and cinnamon buns.
Destination Donuts also specializes in vegan donuts. Not all of their offerings are vegan, but you’ll always find some on the daily menu. Perfect if you prefer plants, but still like classic treats!
We’ve always enjoyed the deals, usually ordering a mixed half dozen. For yeast-raised donuts, they’re often a bit sturdier in structure than, say, melt-in-your-mouth glazed yeast donuts from a shop like Buckeye Donuts, but the flavors are fun and the donuts are beautiful .
Destination Donuts is open from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Wednesday through Sunday.
