10 Layer Greek Dip – Perfect no-cook appetizer ~ Macheesmo

If you’re planning a big food event like a specific soccer game this weekend, I think it’s important to serve something super colorful and healthy along with the wings, queso, and anything else that will grace your table. This 10 layer Greek dip is perfect. It’s pretty easy to throw together, has tons of crunchy veggies, and great Mediterranean flavors. It’s so good my family almost made dinner out of it to be honest!

Too much of a good thing can be just that: too much. For example, I once spent a weekend with some friends at a weekend beer, meat and cheese extravaganza. I ended up remembering going to a game day party and craving someone else’s taco dip salad. My body was like, “VEGETABLES PLEASE.”

I like to serve this dip with Simply 7 Quinoa Chips, which are really light and crunchy, but still stand up to the dip. If you’ve never tried them, they’re excellent and come in a variety of flavors! Do you like this recipe? Check out my 12 easy game day recipes.

What is the basis of this layer dip?

Many layered dips start with a heavier base layer, like sour cream or cream cheese. For this dip, however, I decided to go for something lighter. The base is a mix of hummus, Greek yogurt, olive oil and some simple seasonings. Trust me it’s delicious!

Alternatively, you can use tzatziki sauce for your base layer. I’m making a homemade version in these Lamb Gyro Flatbreads.

What are the layers in this dip?

This layered Greek dip is mostly just chop and it doesn’t matter what order you layer it in. Here’s my order!

First comes the crispy green peppers and cucumber. Be sure to scoop out the seeds inside the cucumber (too much water).

The next layer is chopped artichokes and Kalamata olives! Be sure to take the artichokes in water and not in oil.

Now some color! Add grape tomatoes and chopped banana peppers! You can also use red peppers for this layer.

MORE.

And finally, some feta and fresh parsley! How could you not love the colors here?!

This dip can of course be made well in advance, but I wouldn’t go more than a day in advance as some of the veggies lose their luster after a day or so. Make it the day before and it’s perfect for tomorrow’s game!

It’s a total winner of a dip.

Other layer options and ideas

This dip is very flexible. I honestly use it as a fridge cleaning dip and mix in whatever I have at the moment. Here are some ideas!

  • Celery or Chopped Red Onion – For added crunch, these are great additions.
  • Fresh Mint or Fresh Basil – For an extra layer of herbs.
  • Lemon zest or fresh lemon juice for a citrus punch.
  • Pickled jalapenos for a spicy kick.

What to serve with this Greek layered dip

Dip something crunchy for this dip. I served mine with these Simply 7 chips, but you can also use pita chips, crunchy baked naan bread, or even tortilla chips in a pinch!

If you want to overdo it, you can serve this dip with freshly baked pita wedges like the ones I made for these Greek Nachos!
