This past weekend chef Lara Pipia kicked off a new brunch pop-up at Antiques on High, called High on Brunch! The crowds arrived early and kept her busy the whole morning.

She’s operating out of the The Pizza Box, Antiques’ colorful food truck that’s parked out back.

Sunday brunch features a mix of sandwiches, bowls, salads, donuts, an all-inclusive brunch board, plus a few sides and a kid’s menu.

On this first visit, I managed to snag the last of the savory donuts (yes, there were savory and sweet!). The savory one featured a butter-pate filling with a tart cherry frosting, crushed pistachios, and cherries.

Then I tried two of the breakfast sandwiches. The first is a simple combination of egg, havarti, and bacon on focaccia. Simple but lovely.

And the second – and my favorite – was El Quixote: egg, manchego, Spanish chorizo, arugula, a smoky tomato jam, and a lovely saffron citrus aioli. It all just came together so nicely.

High on Brunch runs Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Keep up with Lara at @doctorwich on Instagram for updates!
Antiques on High is located at 714 S. High St. in the Brewery District.
