A handy summary of family favorite recipes, all of which are prep meals. These best fall batch cooking recipes are all freezer friendly.
TNo sooner had my children’s door closed on their first day of school than I grabbed a notebook and began a list of cooking and baking recipes. As I shared in my last post, I’m serious about getting back to routine.
Batch cooking is essentially the making of multiples of a dish or baked good that can be frozen and reheated later. It’s a huge time saver and a very practical way to support a family.
Today I am sharing this notebook list with all of you. In the summary you are sure to find a new favorite recipe for the whole family!

The best fall batch cooking recipes
From breakfast baking to a quick chicken dinner, here are the recipes my List for batch cooking in the next few months.
Oh and hey, I’m breaking down batch cooking in detail in my How to Get Organized for Dinner series. It’s worth checking out as I explain how I really make it work for our family of five.
Breakfast & Brunch
Start your busy weekday morning with a bowl of pre-made cereal or warm muffins reheated from the freezer.

- Mix & Match Granola – Homemade muesli is probably the No.1 best Breakfast items for batch cooking and freezing. A tightly sealed packet of muesli will stay fresh for up to 3 months in a dry, cold freezer. If left in a jar at room temperature, it should be eaten before a week. This Pumpkin Spice Granola is also very tasty!
- Vanilla Cream Scones – This recipe makes a batch of 2 dozen. Freeze them raw and bake them from the freezer, or bake them and then freeze them. Both deliver great results. For something more festive, bake Cranberry Orange Scones in late fall.
- Maple Sausage Patties – Great for breakfast, brunch or a power snack. You can freeze these raw or cooked.

- Oatmeal Spice Muffins and Variations
- Easy Chia Pudding – Do not freeze but will keep in the fridge for 5 days. I make a triple batch and portion into individual jars for a quick breakfast or lunch box snack.

Soups & Stews
Is there anything nicer than knowing that all you have to do is heat up a homemade soup and dinner is ready? Here are the seasonal soups that freeze best, making them the best batch cooking recipes for fall.
