Good morning! I’m currently sitting at my kitchen table, enjoying a cup of coffee, while gazing lovingly at a tray of homemade blueberry muffins. My friend, Jackie, is staying with me and we spent the whole weekend talking and talking and talking about all the things that friends do when they have a lot in common.

Jackie is an artist. I discovered him on TikTok, where his videos get millions of views In fact, one of his videos itself has over 50 million views I was incredulous when I discovered that he was only 17 years old (at the time).

I was delighted when I found out that he was a vegetarian.

You can find Jackie on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube and be just as hooked on her as I am.

Speaking of artists, this week, I’d like to introduce you to another real live artist (vegan too!) – who doesn’t use ChatGPT or other digital AI tools to create his work. No, he uses his hands and sometimes, a little acetate? His name is David Molinaro and as you can probably tell, we are related. David is actually my brother-in-law.

Left to Right: Anthony, Me, David. We’re all long-distance vegan runners, but I’m sandwiched by two powerhouse artists.

“Aha!” You might be saying. “Makes total sense!” These Molinaro kids got the lion’s share when God was finding talent! You might be onto something! But as I soon discovered after talking to David for 60 seconds, I don’t know, there’s a lot of truth in this phrase:

Art imitates life.

I challenge all of you to listen to the first 10 minutes of our conversation and not find at least 10 different ways that David’s process is the exact same process by which we should all approach life’s challenges: starting a business, creating a fitness routine, even a Building relationships.

One of my favorite pieces by David

Today’s discussion covers a lot of ground. David takes us through his artistic process, from vision to execution, and also chats about why he decided to pursue art at all, something I find endlessly fascinating. But perhaps the most interesting part of our conversation is what is not said, what David deliberately leaves on the table, acknowledging that some things cannot be brought to life through words and, therefore, are better left unsaid. As much as I did when I spoke with him I’d be interested to hear if you all took it and what effect it had on you.
